Prologue
It was a dull afternoon.
A 13-year-old boy returned home from school, dragging his feet as he entered his room. His shoulders felt heavy, not just from his school bag, but from the boredom that had been following him all day.
He threw his bag onto the bed and flopped into his chair, staring at the ceiling for a while. The thought of homework made him sigh. He needed a break, something, anything, to distract him.
Then he remembered his old toy: the small drone airship he had loved to play with. It had been missing for days.
Maybe finding it would make him feel better.
He got up and began searching. He checked under the bed, behind the curtains, and between the books on his shelf. Still nothing.
At last, he opened the cupboard.
His hands pushed aside old clothes, boxes, and forgotten toys. But then, by accident, his fingers pressed against something unusual, a small round bump, cold to the touch, hidden behind a loose wooden panel.
Click.
A soft sound filled the room. For a moment, everything was still.
Then, without warning, part of the wall beside the cupboard shifted. A crack appeared in the surface, and a hidden door slowly slid open with a low rumble.
Behind it was darkness.
The boy’s heart thudded in his chest. He stepped closer, eyes wide, breath held.
He had only been looking for a toy.
But instead, he had found a secret.
A secret that had been waiting quietly, perhaps for centuries.
Waiting for him.
And without knowing it, he had just taken the first step into something far greater than his ordinary life.
This was where his real story would begin.
